General Description

The LP4069H device is a highly advanced linear chargerfor single cell Li-Ion and Li-Polymer batteries. The deviceis ideally suited for portable applications due to the small DFN-8 package and low number of external componentsrequired.

The device employs a full charge algorithm with tricklecurrent, constant current (CC), constant voltage (CV)modes, charge termination and automatic recharge. Thedevice supports charge current up to 800mA,programmed by an external resistor. The device canwithstand an input voltage up to 36V, which can protectthe charger from the accidental insertion of high voltageand hot plug-in. The device can withstand a BAT voltageup to 14V, which is suited for power battery applications.Without an input supply, the battery reverse current isonly 30nA typical.

The device provides various safety features for batterycharging, including input under voltage lockout (UVLO),input over-voltage protection (OVP), battery reverseconnection protection, and thermal regulation foldbackprotection that is implemented by reducing the chargecurrent while the junction temperature reaches 140℃.

The LP4069H is available in a DFN-8 (2mmx2mm)/SOT23-6 package.
