General Description

The LPW5204 is a load switch which provide full protectionto systems and loads which may encounter large currentconditions.The device contains a 70mΩ current-limited P-channelMOSFET which can operate over an input voltage rangefrom 2.4V to 6V. The current limit is fixed or could besettable using an external resistor. When the currentreaches the threshold, the device will limit the current toconstant value to prohibit excessive currents from causingdamage. Internally, current is prevented from flowing whenthe MOSFET is off and the output voltage is higher thanthe input voltage. Switch is controlled by an active-highlogic pin. Thermal shutdown protection is integrated whichshuts off the switch to prevent damage to the part when acontinuous over-current condition causes excessiveheating.These parts are available in a space-saving 6 pin SOT23package or DFN-6 package.
